Saline Solution for Nasal Irrigation
My daughter called yesterday asking where she could purchase more saline solution to use with the SinPulse nasal irrigation system I had given her. I sent her the web site link, which is here.
I told her in addition that she can simply use table salt instead of purchasing the saline solution mixture because the latter is quite expensive. This is especially true if one does not purchase a lot of it because shipping costs are quite high. In the past I have purchased a dozen packages of BreathEase, and each one of these lasts about a month with once daily use.
I too have run out of saline solution, and for the past month or so I have been using regular table salt. The big problem is that table salt does not dissolve as well as the saline solution mixture. You just have to keep churning the warm water with you finger until the salt dissolves. Beyond that it works reasonably well and feels more or less the same as the saline solution mixture.

I also have been using table salt. I\’ve found that it works just as well as the packets. Also, I have experimented with varying the amount used to different effect.
